DESCRIPTION

Tackle Crafters Planer Bridle With Double Snaps. A detachable (or removable) planer system is a fishing rig that allows a diving planer to be disconnected from the fishing line when a fish strikes, eliminating the need to hand-line the fish and leader to the boat. Traditional systems utilize a planer that is permanently fixed to the line. By using a bridle with snap swivels, the planer acts as an in-line device, but releases upon impact, allowing the angler to fight the fish using the rod and reel. Planer fishing is an effective way to target wahoo.

• Detachable Bridle: A small, specialized line assembly with swivels that connects the planer to the mainline. The 22″ bridle is made with 200lb hollow core braid and two #10 130lb super swivels.
• Pre-cut Quick Release Snaps: Connects the planer in-line; when a fish hits, the system lets the angler reel the planer to the rod tip, remove it, and continue reeling the leader.
• Improved Safety & Control: Allows the use of wind-on leaders, keeping constant drag pressure from the reel rather than variable hand-lining tension.
• Reduced Gear Loss: The planer releases cleanly, reducing the risk of break-offs with large, fast-running fish like wahoo.

1. Connect one side of the braid section to the mainline on the reel and tie the other off to the leader that connects to the bait. The low-profile swivels can be reeled through the rod tips and onto the reel.

2. Connect a double snap swivel to each side of the planer. Perfect for size #4, #6 and #8 planers depending on the situation.

3. Close the snap swivel that connects to the planer on each side.
